When Octaskin came to HRVST, they had one mission: to make life easier for people living with seborrheic dermatitis. Born out of first-hand experience, Octaskin wasn’t just another skincare brand – it was built by someone who’s been there, tried everything, and finally found something that works. With a single hero product ready to launch, the team behind Octaskin needed a brand and website that could communicate empathy, trust, and science-backed results – all without the fluff.

The ask.
Octaskin needed a complete brand identity and Shopify website to introduce their product to the world. The goal was to carve out a space in an underserved market with a look and feel that felt credible, approachable, and unisex. They wanted to avoid the overly clinical aesthetics common in the skincare space and instead strike a balance between scientific integrity and warmth. On top of that, their packaging and website needed to be adaptable for future product rollouts, setting the stage for long-term brand growth.
The strategy.
We started by digging into what makes Octaskin different. This wasn’t a luxury beauty brand – it was a science-first, empathy-driven solution for people who’ve struggled to find relief. Through a collaborative discovery process, we got to know their founder’s personal journey and the emotional side of the condition their products aim to treat. From there, we built a brand that balances clinical credibility with human connection.
The visual direction came to life through a neutral, understated colour palette and clean typography that feels timeless yet modern. We leaned into simplicity – minimal packaging, product-focused design, and refined gradients – to let the science and sincerity of the brand take centre stage. Every design choice was intentional, right down to the charming font details that give the brand warmth without sacrificing professionalism.
For the website, we designed and built a Shopify experience focused on clarity, accessibility, and ease of use. The layout prioritizes straightforward navigation, highlighting Octaskin’s hero product while educating visitors about seborrheic dermatitis in a way that feels both informative and empowering.

Octaskin’s new identity delivers exactly what the brand set out to achieve – a look that’s grounded in science but full of heart. The refined logo and minimalist packaging create instant credibility on the shelf, while the subtle gradients and typography add warmth and personality.
Online, the new Shopify site turns that same clarity into an experience. Every page is designed to educate without overwhelming, guiding visitors toward understanding their condition and finding real relief.
