Elm Ridge Country Club
A hundred years of good form.
Elm Ridge Country Club has been part of Montreal golf since 1924. It started among the elm-lined streets of Dorval, moved to Île Bizard in 1960, and grew into one of the most complete golf properties on the West Island: two championship 18-hole courses across 460 contiguous acres, framed by stone walls that once marked the original seigneury boundaries.
A century is a long time to build a reputation. Long enough, too, for the course to outplay the brand.

That’s a tricky thing to do with a club crest. Some logos belong to a company. Elm Ridge’s belongs to everyone who’s ever worn it. It’s on the polo you’ve had for twenty years, the bag tag from your first season, the wedding invitations, the scorecard framed in someone’s basement. Every member has a stake in it, and an opinion about it.
So the ask was to refresh an identity that belongs to a lot of people, in a way all of them could get behind, and one that feels just as right to someone seeing it for the first time.
The strategy. We treated the crest as the asset, not the problem. Rather than replace it, we redrew it, keeping everything members would recognize while giving it a cleaner, more confident line.
From there, we built an identity system around it: deep greens warmed with cream, a classical serif paired with an elegant script, and a set of marks flexible enough to work anywhere the club shows up. Formal, never stiff.
Then we designed and built a new bilingual website to give the club a front door worthy of the course, and a foundation for whatever comes next.
The solution.Elm Ridge now looks like the club it’s always been.
The crest reads as heritage rather than history. The website leads with the courses, the property and the membership, giving prospective members a reason to inquire and current members something to be proud of. It does all this in both official languages, without compromise in either.
The system is built to carry across everything the club touches, from scorecards and flags to apparel and signage. Every piece follows the same visual logic: classic, considered, and quietly confident.
Elm Ridge didn’t change. It just got its good form back.

Brandon and Ivy are creative and amazing to deal with. We were guided through the process from day one and taken care of the whole way.
